Originally from Ohio, Priske grew up maintaining basic artistic interests. Although having completed some art studies at Ohio State University, interest in ceramics began to evolve in 2005. Galena Illinois is currently his home where he and his wife Sally share a 120 acre sustainable tree farm. Galena area is a Mecca of talented potters that continue to contributed greatly to Priske’s development and understanding of form and color. Much of his work incorporates his fondness for his surrounding environment.
My pottery is largely wheel thrown and altered cone 6 stoneware. I particularly enjoy experimenting with a variety of forms and slip applied textures. Much of my work, both form and design are inspired by my environment.
